Opel Grandland X gets a new, more affordable hybrid version
Opel Grandland X gets a new, more affordable hybrid version with a charger with the launch of the Grandland X Hybrid. Unlike the existing version of the Hybrid4 (300 HP), the New version of the Grandland X has front-wheel drive and a total power of 224 HP hybrid system.The Grandland X Hybrid transmission is borrowed from the Citroën C5 Aircross Hybrid. It combines the power of a 1.6-liter / 180 HP turbo petrol engine with 81 kW (about 110 HP) For a total power of 224 HP and a maximum torque of 360 Nm. The electric motor is integrated into an eight-speed automatic transmission. The total autonomy in electric mode is 57 km according to the WLTP cycle. This is a value that allows most people to travel around the city with zero emissions.
Taking into account the autonomy in electric mode, this results in a consumption for the first 100 kilometers of about 1.5 l/100 km (WLTP cycle. This means that the front version of the Grandland X is more efficient than the all-wheel drive version. This shows the official figure (also in the WLTP cycle) of 1.6 l for the first 100 kilometers. Given that the Li-ion battery has the same capacity (13.2 kWh), it is expected that the front version of the Grandland will have an advantage in autonomy over the Hybrid4 version.
