Opel produces the electric Vivaro with 300 km of autonomy
Opel is focusing on electrifying cars: a fully electric version of the Opel Vivaro will be offered in 2020. Customers can choose between two battery capacities depending on the needs they have. The new Opel Vivaro-e will be available with a 50 kWh battery for 200 km of autonomy, or with a 75 kWh battery up to 300 km, according to WLTP.
The Vivaro-e is based on the group's EMP2 platform, which allows both conventional and electric powertrains to be used. The next commercial electric car-the Opel Combo-e Model-will be released in 2021. The third generation Opel Vivaro was introduced a few years ago. The lightweight multi-functional commercial vehicle is now available with three lengths instead of two (4.60 meters, 4.95 meters, and 5.30 meters).
Compared to the previous model, it has a smaller payload of 200 kg (up to 1400 kg) and can tow half a ton more (tow load up to 2500 kg). In addition, most versions of the new Vivaro have a height of only 1.9 m.It also increased the comfort level of the driver and passengers.
Numerous technologies and support systems are also available, from the intelligrip adaptive traction control system and a 180-degree panoramic reverse camera to a multimedia infotainment system. Features such as radar-based sliding doors and a practical FlexCargo option make working days easier.
